National Military Family Association Joins Veterans Financial Coalition

New Member Helps Coalition Reach Military Families Directly

Washington, DC – January 29, 2015 – The Veterans Financial Coalition today welcomed the National Military Family Association (NMFA) as its newest member. NMFA, a nonprofit that works to strengthen and protect military families, will help the Veterans Financial Coalition reach its three goals: educate veterans and the community organizations that serve them; conduct research regarding enhanced consumer protections for veterans; and raise awareness for veterans' financial needs. NMFA's extensive membership of service members and families will enable the coalition to expand its reach of providing help and materials.

Through advocacy, scholarships, camps, family retreats, research, and financial assistance, NMFA works for comprehensive child care, accessible health care, spouse employment options, great schools, caring communities, a secure retirement, and support for those who experience a loss.

"Service members and their loved ones face many unique financial challenges – especially when they transition out of the military and become veteran families,"said Joyce Raezer, Executive Director of NMFA. "We are honored to join this coalition in providing financial education resources and programs to help military families stay above water in these uncertain times."
